Uanet — is there a future?
Runet United and absorbed the Internet space of other CIS countries. This is good and bad. It is good that there was a large single powerful Internet space, covering all the spaces of the CIS language, understandable to hundreds of millions of people. Bad for individual, national Internet spaces, one of which is Uanet. Why so low-quality, successful Ukrainian blogs, websites, portals? Runet United and absorbed the Internet space of other CIS countries. This is good and bad. It is good that a large single powerful Internet space has appeared, covering all the expanses of the CIS in a language understandable to hundreds of millions of people. Bad for individual, national Internet spaces, one of which is Uanet. Why are there so few high-quality, successful Ukrainian blogs, websites and portals? What is the complexity and the problem of uanet, why it is fundamentally different from the Runet. What slows down the development of Ukrainian web space? Features Runet and uanet directly affect the promotion, promotion, creation and success of sites in these spaces.
Let’s see what a Runet. The web — sites in Russian language. Who are the users? Runet users are, first of all, residents of the Russian Federation (and there are about 200 million) and people living in the CIS. This is another 100mn, and Russian-speaking immigrants around the world.
Features of Runet is that it is a shadow of the English-speaking Internet. As it happens, but in the West, the Internet came first and the Internet of the idea, accordingly, emerged and came to life early, too. As was the case in the Internet? Trite, with the words: “Oh, and let’s do the same as they have, but in Russian and advertising more.” This is not a shame, because why reinvent the wheel, if you can see its design and adapt to our roads. In other words, if you can learn from other people’s experience and success, why learn from your mistakes?
And that’s why the Internet developed first there, not here, they’re stupid, and we are smart? Read further…
When in the big cities of the CIS, with the exception of Moscow, sat on the dial-up, in the US and Europe have scattered fiber optic in the province…
As a result, all the ideas in RuNet are not their own, and so to speak “borrowed”, starting with social networks and ending with translated articles and lessons, all from the West. Only, that’s how plagiarism is supposed to be, it’s not like the original. For example, it is ridiculous to compare Vkontakte — with millions of tons of porn videos and Facebook — with the strictest control, and so on.
When in 2002, American students were finalizing, creating CMS (read the article about WordPress), then in the expanses of the CIS students shamelessly thumped, because not many UNIVERSITIES could boast of the Internet, I am silent about the school. The internetization of the West was supported at the state level, and even now it is ten years ahead of us, in Europe and in the US, the Internet is real in every home, and in Russia this word puts a resident of the hinterland in a stupor.
But as time went on, I learned people, the Internet has evolved, and in the Internet one by one began to appear on sites that are clearly focused on success and profit. Sites about games, about the weather, about movies, search engines, email services, social networks, blogs. All other Internet space CIS countries swallowed Runet !
Next, consider Uanet, which is in its infancy. There are successful high-quality sites, but they are very few, there are medium – quality sites, they are few, and the rest — slag. There are very rich people, but there are very few of them, there is a middle class of them just a little, and 80% of the population are poor. And there are many reasons for that, it is a geopolitical situation, hundreds of years of occupation of the country, and, as a result, lack of unity, uniform language, the General low level of development of the country. You will think that I went away from the Internet theme, but it is not, because in this situation, what kind of development of the Internet sphere, Internet communications can be discussed. When we, in Ukraine, even normal roads are almost gone. The benefit came to the aid of corporations of oligarchs, such as Kyivstar and the state giant Ukrtelecom.
So to sum up, the normal Internet in our country appeared, albeit with a delay of ten years, but still. But the content of the Ukrainian Internet is still very scarce, and it is unlikely to shoot as quickly. After all, to create high-quality sites need years, it is not the wires to scatter at home. So what is the Ukrainian Internet now, what is it and what are its main problems?
So, what is the difficulty of creating a website and turning it into a successful profitable project in Uanet. Such sites we have, but not many. Only now there is one thing-these projects originally invested a lot of money, hired a whole team of web developers. But we are interested in, to a great extent, sites blogs that creates 1 person.
This is where the problems begin, although they are common for both large and small projects. The first problem is language. If you live in Germany, you create a website in German, for example, about fishing, start to promote it by 10 main keywords and a hundred secondary keywords. All these keywords are in German. Write unique content in German, people come to your site who speak, read and even think in German. I think you already know what I mean. In Uanet problems begin in the process of thinking about the creation of the site. What language should I use? This question will sound absurd in all countries of the world, because in every country the site is made in the state language. In our country, this language is Ukrainian, but it is used by probably 30% of the population. The remaining 70% speak Russian. What to do? We’ll have to choose one of two languages, or do two, and this is much more difficult than one. After all, the promotion of two language site is more difficult. You need to write content in one language, then translate it into another, etc. Even expensive paid SEO plugins and programs are designed for 1 language per set of keywords in 1 language. Especially, the problem of the language of the site is relevant for Western Ukraine, because here the majority speaks Ukrainian, and the site wants to promote the whole country.
What if you create a website in Russian, because it is used by 70% of the population? You can, but there is another problem — not all use Google filter on the territory (not all use Google!) Russian, and asking a search query in Russian, get in the search results of the Russian promoted sites. In other words, the Ukrainian site in Russian will drown in an avalanche of Russian-language Russian promoted sites.
And if you make a website in Ukrainian? Not a solution — the number of requests in the Ukrainian language, scanty, weddige Ukrainian-speaking Ukrainian, knowing kuciste uanet, ask your queries in Russian. If you want to find the desired content or service, it is necessary to use resources of a Runet, because there is no Ukrainian Vkontakte, konopasek, stopgeym, demarta, Olde, habrahabr, chips and others. But if you already have, then still later, catogorised have a VK account and the box on meil ru.
And stalled on the spot. And ordinary people, potential bloggers and site owners, do not create sites in Ukrainian, because the audience is small, and Russian do not create, because they can not compete with Russian.
wcdt.com.ua — this is an experiment, at first it was the website of the web Studio, within the promotion of which articles were written. Further operaopera to blog about web design, which is conducted in two languages. It is hemorrhoid, but interested in the result. After some time, the analysis of visitors and requests will be carried out, and perhaps the site will become monolingual.
